If she'd had the strength, she would have locked Gage up and kept him. For her own devices, of course. But Lucy didn't.
Gage was quite lovely. To bad, she couldn't just start over. It was really going quite well, not to be kept by Todd. Of course, he'd never know. Even if he thought that he did.
He'd come around, sit with her until well into the dark, then go home. He had to make sure there were no blemishes, because he would know if she hurt herself. School was done. There was no one but these voices. They'd chatter about. She couldn't say when she started to grasp, all of it. They'd always been there, even as a child, but it wasn't until after the break in that she took a real notice. Oh sure, she'd sit about and write about their feelings in her little stories she'd create. But they seemed concern now. No need for Todd to be around. Let him go back to that simple lover of his. Fat chance he'd have with him, anyway. Gage was so much more endearing.
That face. Just an angel, she imagined. She knew, he didn't like her. She saw it on his face. It tensed and looked as if the thought of being here made him sick.
The pudding was amazing. She hadn't had this much sugar in ages. It was intoxicating. And it made her full of a silly energy. Hyped and giddy. Lucy would have fucked him if only he'd stayed longer, but Gage didn't. No, he was off.
A few minutes later she heard wheels screech. A crash. She went to the window, and there lay a body in the street, an awful lot like Gage's.

Oh, I pray that he is okay. Or that it's not him. :(
