dusty habits on the shelf

"I'll take the test with you, so you won't be alone." Sage understood why she needed to go with Gage. She knew he was afraid. Perhaps he didn't trust his brother Manny.

"You would?" Gage winced with a smile.

Sage nodded as she poured his soup in his favorite bowl. It was good to still see him so innocent and a part of her wished she could be just like him, but she needed to watch out for him.

"Manny, needs your help." Sage was sure it was the right thing to do. It wasn't like he'd have to go back to Boston with him. It was something that could be done right at the hospital.

Besides, she was eager to see Allie's baby. Angie wasn't just Manny's little girl. She picked up her cell and dialed Cory's cell. He was at work, but he listened to her tell him what was up with Allie.

"You two need to talk," Sage said. "Gage and I are going in to see if we're a match. Maybe you could be tested?"

"Why are you doing this?" Cory's question shocked her. She couldn't believe it would bother him.

"Because I can. I want to." She winced. Of course, she doubted she'd be a match. Maybe she was doing this for Gage. "Its not that hard. You could do it?"

"But why?" He sounded as if he didn't like the idea.

"I might not be able to help Angie, but maybe someone else. There is this registry you join, and you never know, you might be able to help someone." Sage wished she hadn't even called. She wondered if she'd get the same reaction from Declan. Hopefully, not.

"I should let you go." Sage sighed. She was starting to think she didn't know Cory at all.

Sage and Cory might be at their wits ends here.

I can't believe Cory's reaction. But maybe she needed to know this about him.
