what the future holds

Noah wasn't so sure where he stood with Spencer. First of all, there was so much going on in Spencer's life.

"I might bore you." Noah was the first to admit after their second fiasco. Oh, he knew Spencer's brother didn't think his dinner party was anything but. Yet, they had nothing for him him to eat. After all, he was vegan and gluten free.

"No.." Spencer got swallowed in a wince that took him forever to get out of. "How can you say that?"

Noah couldn't deny it, he was amused with Spencer's body gestures.

"OK." Noah smiled. "Lets just forget it." He did have Spencer at his apartment, after all. And he was sitting on his quaint, slim lined brown sofa. Noah really did consider himself quite the naturalist with his neutral elements around him. Which meant huge painting of his on art display. There was really room for nothing else. He wanted to show off his painting of people close. As in, getting bits of a person's emotions, just showing half their face.

"NO...no..what..what do you mean?" Spencer was more confused than ever.

"I like you." Noah focused on Spencer.

"Good." Spencer sounded relieved.

"Maybe..maybe you need to forget, you know..everything at home..and..and it could be like a vacation." Noah smiled.

"A vacation?" Spencer wasn't giving up those confused gazes.

"Yeah, you and me, we should get away. Christmas vacation." Noah had it all planned. They could go on a cruise. An island. Snorkling. Some place warm.

"I dunno." Spencer looked so unsure. "I need to spend Christmas with my brother and..and I have to think about Gage."

"What's to think about him? He didn't really think much of you, during Thanksgiving, now did he?" Noah reminded him. "It looks as if he's moved on." Noah saw him with the blond surfer dude. Honestly, they looked like two peas in a pod. Perhaps the accentuated each other.

"But-" Spencer was doing his best to stall.

"You have to let him go, Spencer, you do. And this will be the best way to show him, you're letting him go." Noah took Spencer's hand. He knew he must save Spencer before he sank with this sinking ship he called home.

I get a sinking feeling that Noah might want to control the relationship.
