touching base

Keith hadn't meant for Sage to do all the work when she came over, but the kitchen was clean, and so was the laundry.

She was holding the baby now. A part of him felt as if maybe he could let Sage and her bunch watch after the baby some night soon so he could have some alone time with Benny. It was true, he'd been neglecting him. And the whole thing with Spencer and Bucky did worry him, but he was too tired to even worry anymore.

"I have this thing at the University I have to go too. Maybe, maybe you guys could watch Hunter for us." This meant, they could come over for a couple of hours. He did not want her to be moved out of this house. It was a season full of so many colds and strep throat. He wasn't keeping the baby hostage. It was for her own good.

Of course, he didn't want to get sick, either.

"Sure," Sage shrugged as if it were no problem.

"But, Daisy or Trevor wouldn't be coming, would they?" Keith didn't want to worry. "Maybe, they should." He knew he had to give in.

"I doubt it. They both work at the grocery store now." She told him.

Keith couldn't help but smile that they were both working.

"Then..then..you and Gage." He just remembered she was pregnant. "And..and how are you feeling?"

"Not, so bad." She told him she'd been to her first exam. The iron pills made her a little sick, but for the most part she was OK. "I just can't stand the smell of Pizza nor sausage now."

Of course, Keith was thinking he could go for a cold slice of pizza. His stomach was growling. He hadn't actually had breakfast yet, and it was going on 2 in the afternoon. Of course, he hadn't gotten to bed until 4 in the morning, either.

I'm glad he's wanting to let go a little, to let Sage be a part of Hunter's life.

Glad she is there to help, but he really needs to take a break too!
