There was just a mist in the air when the band was to go on. Sarah was all excited. She felt as if she'd let the guys down. At one time she was Casey's main squeeze, but they grew apart. More like she grew up and he didn't. He was like a little brother to her now, and she had to be here for him.
She looked in the crowd one last time for Ste. Oddly, he was right behind.
"Oh my god," She laughed. "You scared me. I'm really glad you made it."
"Me too. Just to see you." He was all smiles.
Sarah's eyes lit. Was he coming on to her? She sucked in a breath. Well, she could work with that. Talk about the band.
"You know, they practice 24/7." She nodded.
"Do they?" He didn't seem impressed at all.
"Casey writes most of the songs, but Benny helps." Naturally, she could see he hadn't an inkling who she was talking about. She so wanted to kick him, but she didn't. Just then Sarah looked up to see Cameron edging through the crowd of moody kids. The rain had pissed them off. They wanted a show and a good one at that. The last band had bailed when the rain fell in sheets. Their music was the same old crap too. Nothing new. Sarah could only hope the freaknoids would bring it.
"Hi!" Cameron was all sweet in her cutoff shorts and bandanna halter. She was wearing her black rainboots dotted with skeletons. She was prepared. She looked at Sarah so happy to see her, but Ste grabbed her hand as if she were his and no one elses.
Sarah couldn't help but stare. Just what did that mean? Exactly? Were they together?

That must be hard for Sarah.
This should be interestins.
I wonder if they'll hook up or not.
I'd be careful if I were her, just in case.
Oh, it could get complicated.
Well...I wonder how it'll be.
I'm wondering what's next.
I like the idea of this story.
