Casey thought there might be a thorn in his side. Or was it the fact that Lucy was being so flirty with Cory. After all, he was the new guy, and he didn't know Casey's history with Lucy. Casey was after all, her first.
True, it had been more mellow, and he couldn't remember much of it since he'd been stoned. He thought he'd had sex with her. But then she'd been all so nothing happened about it. That was like a year ago. And, well, he'd acted like he'd been her boyfriend. Hadn't he?
Then Cory signed up, and she acted so differently. Like, he was so cool, when Casey knew he wasn't. He had to be the biggest nerd ever. Knowing so much about reading music and computers and shit, that Casey didn't even care about. He hated the guy and yet he needed him too.
"Give it up, man." Benny slid his fedora on the back of his head. "You gotta let it go. So what if Lucy wants to be somebody's BFF."
"You think that's all it is?" Casey was curious.
"Who knows. Maybe you aren't what she needs right now. She's not even 17, and not at all experienced." Benny nodded.
Casey scowled. Well, if that meant she wasn't, neither was he. Evidently.
"She's really sweet." Casey admitted.
"Too fuck'n sweet, if you ask me." Benny went back to the drums. Break-time was over. They were going to have to get good if they stood a chance at the battle of the bands that was happening down at the river this weekend.
