"God, I was really beautiful once." Ka-Rad told Spencer as they dug through dresses at Salvation Army. "But I was 16 then and was afraid to wear dresses, you know. Now look at me, I'm a beast."
'You're really not." Spencer told him.
"Your complexion is just perfect, you know. You'll look great in so many bright colors. You should try on this." He pulled out an outfit in mauve with an empire waste. It was so soft and pure.
"I hadn't thought, you know-" Spencer shrugged.
"But just try it. You'll love the way it feels next to your skin. Trust me." Ka-Rad was serious, so Spencer went to try it on. He guessed it was a little much for Spencer. Perhaps overwhelming, but Ka-Rad so much wanted to be his friend so he bought the dress, but doubted he'd wear it, anywhere.
Ka-Rad took him back to his place which was just a studio apartment above the bookstore. It was a tad hot, but Ka-Rad got the fans going and got out his treasure of nail polish.
"So are you feeling blue?" Ka-Rad wanted to know. He got a shrug out of Spencer as Ka-Rad pushed him with a little shove in to the fluffy chair with the leather cushion in front of it. He removed Spencer's shoes then and went to wash his feet. Spencer just sat there a little baffled, but he didn't seemed frighted as Ka-Rad rubbed his feet with the warm wash cloth. He put lavender lotion on them and began to start the process of the navy blue nail polish.
"Do you want your fingernails done, too?" Ka-Rad asked.
The ball of Spencer's heel rested on the crotch of Ka-Rad's skirt. Funny, it felt more sexy than it might have looked. He'd keep it to himself. Ka-Rad was beginning to think he enjoyed Spencer's company more than he'd anticipated. He'd only done it to cheer him up.
