this much for sure

All that mattered to Casey the last few weeks, wasn't Cory's love life, nor even Sarah's. Not even Benny's for that matter. There was work to do. The music. And he'd worked himself around to have a bit of time off to open for Cameron.

Actually, it wasn't exactly a tour. Just weekends in the local areas. They'd missed the festival he'd wanted to go to due to all the drama. First it was with Benny and then Lucy's predicament. Honestly, he just wanted a new band, but it didn't look like he was getting one, anytime soon. But somehow, they'd held together even if it had been shaky ground.

Cory was still a little out of it, but Casey had coaxed him into remembering how music was therapeutic. And just maybe. Maybe he and Lucy were going to work this out. There was nobody else to do this pep-talk. Sarah seemed as if she were in some other world. He wasn't sure if it were Ste's fault or someone elses. They really didn't talk anymore.

In spite of everything, he felt a drift. As if maybe he wasn't exactly a part of anything. Unfortunately. Perhaps, it was the though,t there was no one for him. He tried to think on it, as if he were a free agent of some kind. Of course, that only went so far. And then it happened.

"What happened?" Benny sat at the diner looking at Casey as if he'd still had his hangover from last night's concert.

Casey just couldn't wipe that silly smile off his face.

"You know, I think I had the best sex I ever had last night." He bit into the bacon.

"You were so drunk, dude, how would you know?" Benny grinned.

"I just do. I know it was." Casey sighed.

"Who was it, then?" Benny gave him a stare as if this might be the Final Jeopardy question.

"That's just it, I dunno." Casey gave him an ominous shrug.

"You don't remember? How could it be that good then, huh?" Benny winced as he devoured his hash browns.

"I just know." He shook his head. "It just happened. I wasn't looking for it. Honestly. Its been like my shitest year ever and then she comes along."

"You sure it was a she?" Benny pursed his lips.

"What?" Casey squinted hard.

"Hahaha," Benny laughed then. "You should have seen the look on your face." Benny sipped his coffee then.

Casey, was certain he hadn't gone gay yet. Not yet.
