so cold

Oh, Ali really did have fun pushing Benny's buttons.

"You, seriously think I would have touched you?" She asked later when they stopped by the diner next to the Comic book store. They sat at their favorite booth. She had iced tea and watched him eat the lo mein noodles.

"I have no idea what you're capable of." He shrugged. "You can't even do it for love, can you?"

She sucked through the straw then. Honestly, her entire life was a wasteland. So they were trying to teach her new skills, but she wasn't exactly catching on down at the Woman's center. Her mind couldn't focus. She was good for nothing. It was true.

Ali though of Cory then. She knew he hated her now. She guessed. They had not spoken. Ali felt she'd been covered up in a landslide now. She wished Casey had been different.  She bit her bottom lip. What was she suppose to do? Jump into the ocean and float off somewhere so no one would have to look at her huge body?

"I'm sure it'll be different for you." She did her best to ward of any tears, slipping from her. "Don't you know you're perfect. The guy's got to be crazy about you." He would never have to be anyone's dirty little secret. Never.

Last time Ali had seemed like the bad friend, but perhaps, she had a reason.
