What was her intentions? Really?
A part of Lucy was trying to will Lux to wake up. But all was quiet. It was really a nice part of the afternoon. A great time for tea. Maybe even a tea-party. We should dress up and speak in our best British accents...
It should have been that way with Gage. She wanted to say it, but it was a little too late. After all, it was just kissing..now wasn't it? It was going to be. But no, it evolved some how, like the sinking sun, she now thought. Steady as it went. Under the covers of the bed sheets.
It was real and seriously, nothing was suppose to be spoken. It was one of those sort of matters to feel through. Maybe touch had something to do with it, but so did the emotion, like smoke rising, dancing, settling some how ..in the air...that settled somehow in a very deep sleep.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Someone pulled Lucy up in the depth of murky waters of her dreams. She gasped, then pressing her lips tight as if she couldn't imagine Todd really being here, but he was. She looked at the time. Not even four o'clock, but it didn't mean she was any less naked, wrapped like a semi-goddess in the sheets.
"Its not what you think." She scowled, as if Gage wasn't even here. He was asleep, of course. "I-I was just helping him out. Actually."
"OH REALLY!" Todd was so loud. He woke the baby, which he went to in the next room. Lucy climbed into her clothes, and ran after him, barefooted.
"Can we not discuss this now?" She trembled.
"When is a good time for you?" He eyeballed her as if this was not a game. "What? Are you sex therapist now? I might add rapist is actually in the word." He looked at her bitter as if she'd taken advantage of Gage. She should be ashamed.
"He's not an idiot." Lucy squinted. Why did he have to make her feel any worse?
"How could you?" Lux tested her lungs once more, but Todd soothed her, letting her take to his hand. He looked quite miserable as if she'd done it, this time. "What more could I possibly give you? You enjoy, making me miserable, don't you?" He shook his head as if he wished not to look at her.
"I'm sorry, it just happened." She shook her head, promising it wouldn't happen again.
Todd went to get Lux a bottle. Again, he wouldn't look at her. But she had no place to go. There was a knock on the door. It was Spencer.
"Please..Please, don't tell him!" She begged then. Wondering what could she do? Where would she go? For the first time, it was clear to her, she couldn't make it on her own, even if she wanted too.
