"I talked with some of the people you used to work with," Spencer said to Gage after the waitress took their order at Village Inn. Everything was fresh and remodeled. There was a simple menu with just about anything one might be hungry for. "They think you could come back to the deli. I mean, it wouldn't be anything major. Mainly assisting the chef and unloading things. Would you be up for something like that?"
"I guess." Gage shrugged as he stirred the straw in his Dr. Pepper as if it hadn't enough sugar.
"You know, you were pretty good at making friends when you were at rehab." Spencer mentioned.
"That was different." Gage shook his head.
"Come on, you know you don't want to watch TV all day." Spencer reminded him it was good to be busy.
"You want me to work, so I can move out?" Gage acted as if he understood now.
"Did I say that?" Spencer winced. "You have your room. Don't you like it?"
"Its OK." Gage seemed in different about it.
"Is their anything you need? Just tell me, I'll see what I can do." Spencer looked at Gage, wondering what was really on his mind.
"Is there anything you need?" Gage stared at him.
"What do you mean?" Spencer winced.
"Needs." Gage winced.
"I'm just fine." Spencer sighed as the waitress came near. He looked at Gage who looked at the perky blond out of the corner of his eye. Spencer was sure he didn't know this Gage.
