trying to be festive

Spencer was torn. Yes, he could see himself with Noah. But then that would be turning his back on Gage. It would have been so easy. He possibly lived with a houseful of lunatics. Still, he wasn't sure how it happened. And he didn't know what to do about it.

He knew what Keith would do. He'd tell them they needed to go. And just move on. Move on with Noah.

It just wouldn't be right. Of course, Keith invited he and Noah over for Thanksgiving. Spencer told Keith he'd have to be home. For all he knew they might burn down the house, but Sage was dependable and it wouldn't look right if he wasn't there.

"Why don't you all come to my house?" Spencer asked. Noah was going to have to meet Gage, sooner or later. Of course, Keith didn't look at all fond of that.

"We're having the band over. Sarah's coming." He guessed. It wouldn't be until the evening, anyway. "It'll be great." Although Spencer felt he might have been faking a smile. Actually, he hadn't asked any of them what they were doing for Thanksgiving at home.

"I thought we'd just order from the deli." Sage shrugged when he got home and asked about Thanksgiving. No way was Sage up for cooking. "I plan to sleep in."

"We can get a really good discount if we buy the whole dinner." Gage said as if he was a recording of some kind, but he broadcasted it with an intent smile.

"Whatever." Spencer  just wondered who was picking up the tab for all this.

"We'll chip in." Sage told him. "I'll even bring it home."

"I can pick it up." He knew it would be a lot to carry on a long walk home.

"Sure." Sage nodded as if it wasn't a big deal. She didn't ask anymore from him.

"Look, I'm..I'm bringing a date." Spencer cleared his throat.

"Oh." Gage looked at Sage as if he needed a date too. "Well..uh, Sage is bringing someone."

She winced then. She shook her head, no. Gage grabbed her by the shoulders. "Come on, when are we gonna meet him? We want to meet him. And you know, you want too."

"More the merrier." Spencer tried his best to sound chipper, but he felt a little sad that Gage didn't ask him about his date.
