Spencer stood there eye-balling Ezra on Todd's couch. He shook his head.
He'd had enough. He didn't ask for this. He hugged himself, thinking this was just crazy. Who was this guy?
"I don't like this." He didn't want to be responsible for some roomie he hardly knew. "It was your idea to take him in." He looked to Sage then who looked as if she might be wearing a guy who looked as if he might be ready to play the hunch back as he had his arms around her.
"Spencer, he's gonna be OK." Sage made it sound like a promise. "It was probably the light." She went into something about Van Gogh the artist and having seizures.
"Oh great, so what's next? Ezra's gonna cut off his ear?" Spencer wasn't waiting around for that. "I don't want him at my house."
"Come on, don't say that." Sage pleaded with him even if she was stuck with this thing she found at the party. "Ezra is gonna be OK. He's working. And..and he's paying you rent." Which of course was something Gage was not doing. Spencer did need the income, actually.
"Gage?" Spencer suddenly thought of him, thinking he was just as much a responsibility as Ezra. Suddenly, it felt as if he'd lost him in the crowd. "Anyone seen Gage?"
"Gage!" Well, he wasn't among them. What if? Spencer felt bad that he hadn't thought of him, until now. He didn't want to lose him. "Gage!" Had he wounder off in Todd and Lucy's flat? He looked down the hall. Maybe he'd gone to the bathroom. No one there. He turned and switched on the bedroom light. There Gage was sleeping in Todd and Lucy's bed.
