They were alone now. Spencer and Benny. It was just the two of them in Spencer's car. They'd hung back once Gage got inside.
"Are you sure, you're, all right?" Benny wanted to know.
"I think so." Spencer sighed, but he was so sad.
"Its not the end of the world. You're gonna get through this." Benny was sure of it.
"Yeah, I know. Its..its like I'm in this rut, you know." He shook his head. "Maybe I just don't know how to be in love." His voice cracked. He talked about things Benny didn't know about. How it was in high school. How he was with someone he was so scared of. "I just thought, you know..."
Maybe Spencer was feeling sorry for himself. Benny only reached out to comfort Spencer. Before he knew it, he was kissing him.
Spencer kissed him back too. And it lingered. Possibly, the temps were dipping down with the wind chills out and the car's heat was slipping, except the warmth between them was growing stronger by the second. Lips mashing. Deeper kisses that only wanted to go further. Really, the only person on Benny's mind was Spencer.
But his cell went off as a warning. The phone kept ringing. Benny sighed, knowing the ring tone was Keith's. Queen's WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS. He finally answered.
"What are you doing?" Keith was frantic.
"Just..just hanging out." Benny told him.
"You have to come home. Your mother's here. So is your cousin. There's a baby coming, and it ours!"
Benny looked wide eyed at Spencer then.
"I guess..I guess you gotta figure this out with Noah." Benny cleared his throat. He put his cell away. Benny knew he had to go back to Keith. After all, he still loved him, and he knew Keith had been waiting forever for something like this to happen.
