"OK, your Mom just..just drops her off, here." Keith looked a bit frantic as soon as he met Benny at the front door. At least the guestroom was made up and Fergie had a place to sleep. "Then..then I find out about this Trevor. The one who..knocked her up..or whatever. He's the bicycle bandit!"
"Bicycle bandit?" Benny winced as he went to the kitchen to finish off the coffee.
"Yes! Don't you listen to the news?" Keith was practically in a tizzy. "He's in Juvi. They caught him."
"That's good, right?" Benny winced with a smile as he leaned against the kitchen counter.
"Did you know, Fergie smokes?" Keith questioned him more. "I told her no smoking. She has to quit. She has too. For the baby."
"You're really in Daddy mode, aren't you?" Benny smirked as he poured milk in his coffee.
"Well, your mother leaves it to me, to find a lawyer. We have to do everything, Benny. Everything!" He was almost starting to twitch.
"How much coffee have you had?" Benny asked. Keith grabbed Benny's coffee cup. "Not enough." He took a sip of Benny's coffee.
"What if we're going to become parents of a sociopath, Ben?" Keith slightly snarled. He gave Benny the coffee back. Benny didn't put sugar in his coffee.
"Relax, OK. The baby isn't even here." Benny shrugged.
"We have three months to get this done. And..and what are we suppose to do with Fergie? Raise her, too?" Keith hugged himself, wondering what they were getting themselves into.
