bring it on

"I dunno if you..you should get involved with this," Sage said right away. She'd came home with a headache and a little brown bag with something in it that she wasn't sure she wanted Gage to know about. At the moment, she was sure she was going to throw up.

As she looked around the old Victorian home, she was beginning to think this was her worst idea yet, and it might get worse.

"I'm..I'm just saying..I remember..something." Gage shrugged.

Sage tore opened the box looking for the flannel sheets. Of course, they weren't there. They needed the flannel sheets. "Remember what?" She looked at him as if this was just a bad omen. "You remember Spencer now? Is that what you're trying to say?" Just what she needed a bomb shell like this. He remembered being in love with Spencer. She wasn't sure her headache could take this. She squinted hard.

"No, not..not like that." Gage looked kind of sleepy about it. Like it might be more of a dream instead of reality. Before she knew it, he had the slender box in his hand.

"You weren't going to tell me?" Gage blurted while holding up the pregnancy home test.

"Yes..I was going to tell you." Sage headed to the bathroom before she could finish her sentence. She threw up and messed her pants all at the same time. It was the worst feeling in the world. And now she felt disgusted, squinting the hot tears back, but they escaped anyway.

"Are you all right?" He found her on the bathroom floor sitting next to the commode.

"Never better," Sage sighed. The floor was freezing cold and now her bare feet for numb. Funny, how she couldn't get out of sneakers fast enough when she got home. Her feet had been burning hot. Now she felt as if she was living in a walk in freezer. The sun was out and warm outside. Inside, was horrible cold.

"It'll be OK." Gage told her as he reached up and turned on the shower for it warm up. "I'll put on the kettle. We'll have soup and sandwiches. Just get washed up." He was already reading the instructions, as if what ever was on his mind was gone. "Isn't this exciting?" He smiled ever so brightly. Finding the flannel sheets could wait.

Sage smiled weakly with a nod. If only he could have the baby instead of her would be even more exciting, but that wasn't the way nature worked.

Definitely, my body would be in shock after all that. I hope she can some how survive morning sickness.
