Todd could sense that Craig was afraid he wasn't happy to see him. After all, there were no gifts for his brother under the tree.
"I didn't even know if you were dead or alive, you know." Tod told him. "It was like you fell of the earth, or something."
Craig only nodded giving him the silent treatment. He nursed on a bottle of beer, waiting for the new year to begin.
"Don't you have anything to say?" Todd's face tensed. He was so angry with him, yet he was glad he was back.
"I dunno where to begin. But I'm back. Back for good. I want a fresh start." Craig informed him.
"Can you even make a fresh start, here?" Todd winced as he watched Craig, still a bit of his pompous self, and yet he wondered if he'd mistaken it, for perhaps the fear he hid.
"I want to." Craig squinted back. "I-I never thought in a million years, Sarah would be..married." He looked as if he were a bit disgusted with the idea.
"Ezra, is a good guy. In fact, he's a great guy. He's been there for Sarah long before Jake. He loves her. He loves Jake, too." Todd couldn't help but eyeball Craig now, hoping he wasn't thinking of trying to wedge himself between Ezra and Sarah.
Craig only nodded as he sipped his beer. Todd knew his brother hated to be defeated.
