"Are you sure, you are all right?" Em said with concern when Spence got their late with some pretty sheer blue curtains he wanted to give to her to spice up the bedroom.
"Why would you say that?" He seemed to be in a tizzy. It was going nine at night and rather dark. Manny was still at work, but she knew he would be ready for sleep as soon as he got in, and he probably wouldn't even notice the curtains. "I had to feed Bucky."
Spencer made Bucky sound like a pet who was on a special diet.
"Is he all right?" As of yet, neither she nor Manny had gone over to meet Bucky. She knew they needed too, but the timing was all wrong. Besides, there was work and Angie to see too. It wasn't like they thought Spencer was a troubled kid. Perhaps, Bucky was.
"Yeah, why wouldn't he be?" Spencer sort of laughed as if he liked taking care of Bucky.
"Did he find work yet?" She wondered.
"He's sure Omaha Steaks is the real deal. He's worked there before." Spencer sighed as if it were no big deal.
"How's your job?" She asked as he spread the curtains across the bed and got the fancy rod ready to put them on.
"I love it." He smiled with such glam. She was beginning to think she didn't really know this Spencer who worked with senior citizens at a daycare. He was now in charge of teaching basic computer skills and daily exercise routines. "I don't know why I ever thought I could be an artist now." He shook his head as if that was just nonsense now.
He got up on the kitchen stool and did his thing with the curtains which were in place in a couple of seconds.
"Now how do you feel about lavender." He thought they should repaint her dresser. "Silver would be even better." He had a vision in mind for a headboard already
"I'll have to talk to Manny about that," Em gritted a smile, wondering who in the world Spencer thought lived here.
