a wee problem

Well, at least they could spend the 4th at Lucy and Todd's. There was a great spot on top of their loft to see the night sky.

Of course, Sarah had already had too much to drink on wine coolers.

"She might doze off any minute." Ezra told Todd. He stayed by Sarah, in case she might fall off the building.

"What if she does?" Todd asked as he was holding a Mexican beer in his hand and sucking on a lime. "I'm not sure I can even take you guys home. You, might need to stay the night."

"I can drive." Ezra informed him.

"No, you can't. You, don't even have a driver's license." Todd laughed.

Ezra whipped out his wallet and showed his teen face.

"It might be old, but I've got one." Ezra told him.

Todd studied the license for a moment. Then looked Ezra in the eye as if maybe that photo really wasn't him.

Sarah giggled, but not about the photo. Lucy was making her laugh. They went back inside. Probably for more wine coolers.

"Look, sometimes, I go to the drugstore for Sarah, or the grocery store. I don't drive with Jake in the car." Ezra was serious. "Its not like I've ever had my license revoked. I just have epilepsy."

"Does it say that on the license?" Todd tossed his lime off the building and finished his beer.

Ezra shook his head, no. "I had a seizure a week after I got my license."

"And you didn't..you know.." Todd shrugged. "Report it, or anything?"

He shook his head, no.

"I don't drive, unless I have too." Ezra shrugged.

"Did you get back on your meds?" Todd winced as if maybe it was all sorted out now.

"I will." But even when Ezra said it, he knew he was just as stubborn as they come. He really hated change, especially if the change was within himself.
