Benny thought he might faint when he saw Ka-Rad.
"What are you doing here?" Benny tensed. They had barely got their band stuff off the bus.
"To do your hair, I guess." Ka-Rad shrugged as if he always did this before a show. Naturally, he looked a bit fruity in spandex. Benny wished he wouldn't try so hard. Honestly, he'd rather see Ka-Rad in a T-shirt and jeans. Not all made up. That was possibly a cape he had on. It made Benny want to laugh at the silliness of it, but he didn't.
Ka-Rad found a place for Benny to sit. It was kind of dressing room at the old cement building near the river where they were to play. It smelled like old socks and lemon cleaner. It was the City restrooms. God knows, what really went on here. Was that a syringe Benny saw by the sinks? Really, it was kind of creepy, but it didn't bother Ka-Rad in the least.
"Well, what can we do?" Ka-Rad pursed his lips as he looked in the mirror. So did Benny, staring at Ka-Rad in the mirror. It was as if they were both on a TV show, suddenly. There TV show and Benny had sudden stage fright. He didn't know what to say, nor how to act.
"Uh, I like it messy." He shrugged. Just then Ka-Rad put his hands on Benny's shoulder. Benny tried not to smile too much. It felt as if the room was full of candle light, but they were still in the dark. Benny couldn't take his eyes off Ka-Rad who was behind him. Benny focused on Ka-Rad's reflection.
His fingers went into Benny's hair. Instantly, Benny felt something coming on. He tensed. He shivered slightly as he bit his bottom lip. He was definitely attracted to Ka-Rad even if the dude were trying to pull a Boy George on him.
