"Seriously...you're thinking about it?" Keith couldn't stay away from Benny's house even if it made Benny a little nervous.
Keith had brought Benny's mother red roses.
"Now that was a little much." Benny shook his head, no.
"Well, I got myself invited to dinner." Keith was proud to admit even if he couldn't get Benny back on track about moving in with him.
"You don't want her to like you." Benny told him.
"But I'm dating you. Doesn't she want to know me?" Keith was puzzled as he looked about their perfect little house. She had everything in its place.
"NO." Now Benny looked scared, as he would not let Keith touch any of his mother's little figurines in her tiger collection. "I don't want her to know you."
"Why are you so weird about your Mom?" Keith winced then.
"She'll make you do things." Benny said so mysterious.
"What things?" Keith still didn't understand.
"She might look small and sweet. But she isn't. I'd rather you not be under her wrath." Benny squinted hard.
"Her wrath?" Keith thought Benny was being funny.
"Why do you think my sisters' husbands leave? My mum is never satisfied. She hates them. She'll hate you too." Benny was so serious.
Keith kept calm as he touched Benny's shoulder. "Probably just her way of showing you that she loves you."
"NO TOUCHING!" Her shrill voice felt as if she'd violated the moment. Keith put his hands in his pockets. She made him slightly jump. He saw that stoic look of hers. He had to get Benny out of her. Really, his mother didn't have to come to visit.
