Spencer wished something would happen soon with Gage. At the moment he felt helpless.
"Does his parents even know about this?" Keith wanted to know. Spencer hated that Keith kept bringing Gage's parents into this.
"You're not his family." Keith informed him. "Even if you two are so ...you know..." Keith sighed. Of course, Keith went on a tyrant about he hated the stated and how their just wasn't enough rights for gay people here. He started talking how he'd be in the same boat if something were to happen to Benny he wouldn't have any say in what would be done. "You should at least try to talk to someone in his family." After all, Gage was practically a ward of the state, being in a coma.
"Gage hates his dad." Spencer said. "Well, he thinks his Dad hates him." Spencer sighed. He didn't want to think what might happen to Gage if he didn't wake up soon. He wanted to go where ever Gage ended up.
Spencer spent his days by Gage's side. Talking to him. Making sure he was comfortable. He didn't care how long it took. But again, his brother told him it wasn't the sensible thing to do. Spencer had a job down at the art gallery. And if he was going to make it anywhere in the art world, he needed to keep that job.
"Maybe, I'm not cut out for that kind of art." Spencer finally decided. He could still do his art. He could do it anywhere. And he did. He took out his sketch pad, he started sketching Gage. Spencer didn't want to worry about bills or how much it would cost to get Gage back to being his old self. He just wanted this coma over with.
"Look, you don't know how long this might take." Keith, he knew was concerned. "What are you going to do, if..if nothing is like it used to be." Keith told him that Gage might not remember him. He might have to learn everything, all over again."
"What ever it takes, all right." Spencer kept praying that Gage would get better. But he'd find himself drawing another picture of Gage. He wanted to think of all the emotions he had with Gage. He couldn't lose that. He couldn't.
