"I'm thinking my whole life is a lie."
Todd clipped at Sarah's dead ends. He cut only four inches of her thick honey colored hair.
"Just think of it as a good lie." Todd wasn't sure he liked what he was saying. He was just trying to focus on the haircut. "I mean, you have people who love you."
"But what if my real Dad is Casey's Dad..and his dad is my Dad?"
"Is this like switched at birth or something?" Todd winced.
"I can't believe my mother lied." Sarah fumed. She was not happy, but he had a feeling she'd came in to talk, not for a haircut.
"But does your Dad know?" Todd was catching on to this game. This was seriously crazy.
"Which one?" Sarah's intense face stressed.
"Look, you're having a baby. You know who the father is. And, that's all that matters." Todd rubbed his finger as the nap of Sarah's bobbed hair. It was done. Flirty and very affordable. Free in fact.
"I feel so lost, you know." She told Todd then.
"You're not lost. We're here for you." Todd smiled. "You look great." He said into the mirror. For a moment, he felt as if they were having their very own TV show.
"But..but I want to know who I am." She got up then.
"Of course, you do." He gave her a pat on a back. "Google it." Wasn't that the answer to everything?
