Todd knew he couldn't have made the week without the help from Sarah and her family. But still he had lots alone time back at the flat with Lux. He didn't know what he'd do when Lucy came home. He'd do his best to forgive her, but forgetting was entirely too hard.
"Well, you have to keep looking to the future." Sarah kept reminding. But it felt so pointless, sometimes. It was baffling, why Lucy would hurt him, like that.
"Maybe, this has nothing to do with you." Sarah's words were on his mind when he got a call on the cell.
"Hey, I don't have long to talk," It was a familiar voice. His brother.
"Craig! Is that you?" He could barely hear him. "Why are you calling me?"
"I need to know, how is Sarah?" He wanted to know.
"Just dandy." Todd wanted to yell, but he was holding Lux and she was sleeping. "Happy, you aren't here."
"You just don't understand." His voice went in ans out. It sounded as if he were in a wind storm.
"You're right. I don't." Todd wanted to know where was. "You coming back?"
"I would." His voice sounded almost desperate. "If I could."
"Fine. Whatever." He was about to hang up.
"Just tell her I miss her, will you?" Craig's hurried words came back to haunt him. "Tell her, I love her. I do."
"Craig! Why can't you tell her?" Todd winced. He waited for an answer, but the line went dead.
