The 4th was a nice get-together. Of course, the fireworks was a lot to be desired. No one mentioned how Todd set the flower bed on fire by the driveway at Spencer's. It was an accident.
After that, he gave up on the fireworks, thinking half the world was on fire, anyway. No need to add to it.
Naturally, he thought of his brother Craig. Still not sure if he were even dead or alive. He liked to believe he was OK, where ever he was. He didn't bring him up to Sarah. Todd was sure that would definitely be a downer. And he didn't want the 4th to be a downer for anyone.
He'd hoped to see Noah with Spencer, but that was a mute subject.
"Don't even ask." Gage told him. "Its over. Spence just needs to move on."
Todd understood. He didn't know what to talk about with Spencer, anymore. It was as if they were at different levels of their lives. Honestly, he wanted to be there for him, but he didn't see how. Not now, anyway.
No, he was busy trying to think of new ways to get customers into the store.
"Maybe we should have another party." He meant one at the shop. A little concert. "A back to school thing." Throw in some free giveaways. That should do it. But no one seemed to be listening. Casey was worried about Nina and the baby.
"Well, maybe someone could fill in?" He asked Declan if he played the guitar. "I bet you can sing." Todd sounded as if it were a bright idea.
"I dunno. I'm kind of shy." Declan told him he might have to pretty drunk to attempt it.
Todd gritted, thinking that wouldn't be wise. "Well..how about you?" This Trevor was new. Very adorable too. Todd could see the fan girls now. Hyped and waiting for him to do anything on stage. Trevor beamed at the idea. That's when Todd showed him a few chords on the electric.
