Manny still felt strange talking about the Asher and Spencer moment.
"It was just weird." He didn't want to have anything to do with it. "You would have thought I was playing cupid."
He was out with Em. They were grocery shopping. She wanted to get groceries for Gage. Sort of a house warming present. Of course, when she asked about Gage's favorites, he had no idea.
"Spencer will figure it out." Em didn't seem that concerned.
"Right." Manny guessed she was right. He went right up to try the samples of a new salsa and chips. He handed her one to try. "I mean, I feel bad for the guy and all, but you know, this is something you can't fix. Exactly." Manny winced as if they should leave human nature alone. It was as if they might as well be trying to put vinegar and water together in some clinical situation.
"Did he even talk to him?" Em wanted to know as she crunch on a chip.
"Not really. Kind of." Manny shrugged. Asher was friendly enough, but not the way he was with him. "I'm not going to ask Asher about Spencer." Manny was staying out of it.
Em nodded as if she understood. They went on with their shopping. Suddenly, Manny felt as if it the natural motion of things. He felt so insync with her, but he couldln't tell what exactly Em was thinking.
"So what should we do? After this?" Manny wanted to know, but maybe he didn't. Perhaps they'd sense what was next.
"I guess we should take this stuff back to Gage's. You know, go to where they are moving to." Em shrugged.
Manny nodded. He guessed they were only friends, after all.
