something simple

The dress was white.

Sarah kept thinking she wanted to wear pink or maybe even red for the wedding. But here it was a simple vintage number that Lucy found. It was lacy and just below the knee. Sarah was sure she'd like it at first.  Once she put it on, she knew it was the one.

She winced. She hated to think of her mother's words, "Told you so."

"Its very Victorian," Lucy explained, although it was from the 1960's, but it was lacy at the throat and it would look perfect with the gray suit that Ezra would be wearing. Sure there were more skimpy outfit to choose from. Strapless and a lot more tule, but it felt like a dress that would go with Ezra. She smiled at that thought.

"My mom will be so mad." Sarah shrugged as if she shouldn't be happy with this.

"Well, its not her wedding, now is it? You, wear what you like." Lucy apologized if she'd been overbearing. "I want you to find something you love."

Sarah knew Lucy was right. She hoped this wedding wasn't too rushed, but it was coming along so smoothly. They were sure to be married by the end of the week.

Sarah kept her fingers crossed. Of course, they hadn't even thought of a honeymoon during Christmas break.
